Talking with Scott Glosserman is caffeine for the editor. Hes full of ideas, crackling with energy and passionate about horror cinema. If you've the pleasure of speaking with Glosserman in your lifetime, he's the perfect model of the enthusiastic and appreciative genre director (not to pigeonhole the man, either, but that's the mantle he carries at the moment). Horror is a strange business, and the personalities of the people connect with supporters in powerful ways. Glosserman is in good shape on that front.

Its a pleasure to bring his work to the fore this week, as Hollywood unveils Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.

Read the generous interview, and then Tim Emswilers review further brings to life the textured and terrific details of Behind the Mask. This is one to watch: a director living a dream and a film poised to make its bones among reflexive genre masterpieces. Grappling with postmodernism in the horror film can slip all too quickly into silly territory. Glosserman walks that razors edge of satire with aplomb.
