Pat Higgins: Director

Pat Higgins directs movies in the United Kingdom. Based out of Essex, Higgins played some stock, came out ahead and financed his first film TrashHouse, which garnered him not only critical praise - but a shot at the next project.

Using the same head that got him a lucky break the first time around, Higgins filmed two features back-to-back, maximizing locations and expenditures. KillerKiller and Hellbride transform this auteurs catalogue into a triptych of psychology. The films are shot through with themes of buried desires, inescapable flaws, vengeance and a kind of inherent rules-system dictating when and how spiritual justice inevitably descends.

The beauty of following Higgins at this point in his career is that you follow a director just finding his voice, executing his initial catalogue with energy and verve and steadfast belief that this is the right job at the right time. At Cinescare, Higgins is the kind of motivating force that got the whole concept electrified one summer several years ago. Now that were here, were thrilled.
